Lower Extremity PAD
This is PAD in the legs, which frequently appears as pain or numbness in the leg, buttocks or hip when exercising. It is often diagnosed through an Ankle/Brachial Index exam. Treatment depends on the seriousness of your condition, and can range from minimally invasive treatments such as an angioplasty or stent to bypass surgery. Untreated lower extremity PAD can cause tissue death, which in the worst cases may require amputation.
